Committes and Officers
Committees Since it takes many hands to succeed, five committees have been formed to organize our activities:
- Property & Management Marilyn Ahlf, Ken Ahlf responsible to improve facilities based on existing need. This includes structural needs and furnishing needs.
- Curriculum David Nelson, Jennifer Nelson responsible for teacher training and enhancement which includes continuing education, teaching aids and arranging mentoring opportunities for both teachers and students as they do not have many role models/mentors.
- Scholarship and Sponsorships Barbara Schnider, Haldor Finnerud The school's only income is through student fees. This committee's success is key to the success of the school. It must assure salaries so that paid teachers show up to teach. It also coordinates student scholarships, of which, at least 50% to go to girls. (The shortest route to end poverty is to educate the women United Nations Declaration)
- Financial Committee Earla Ferry, Marsha Mc Brady responsible for funds and budget.
- Fund Raising Carrie Martin, Larry Mc Glamery, Danelle Bessett, Lola Deane schedules events, applies for grants, participates in speaking engagements, runs membership drives, looks for support opportunities. By definition, all Safi members are fund raisers. This committee welcomes you all.
